We were so lucky that some friends recommended Liam. He's friendly, thoughtful, interested in solving problems, in a way that makes him a delight to deal with. We couldn't be happier with the results of his work and unlike other sparkies we've worked with, he turns up on time and even came back on his day off to make sure everything was working as it should. His prices are fair, and his work is of a very high standard. Couldn't be happier. We will definitely be hiring Liam for all future work in our house.

Cooling Questions
We handle the electrical side, which is running and terminating the dedicated circuit the unit needs and confirming the switchboard can carry it. Tell us who is supplying and fitting the unit and we will work in with them.
Because of how much current it draws and for how long. Sharing a circuit with a kitchen or laundry means the combined load can exceed what the wiring and breaker were sized for, which shows up as nuisance tripping at the worst time of year.
Not always as it stands. A fan needs a mounting point rated to carry its weight and movement, which a standard ceiling rose is not. Where the ceiling structure allows it we fit a suitable mount, and we tell you at the quote if a position will not work.
Usually because the fan is undersized for the room, or because it is venting into the roof space rather than outside. Both are common and both are fixable. Moisture that stays in the ceiling eventually shows up in the plaster and paint, so it is worth dealing with.
Before summer instead of during it. Availability tightens once the weather turns and the jobs that need switchboard work take longer to organise, so a few weeks of lead time makes the whole thing easier.
It depends on the number of fans, the ceiling access, and whether the switchboard has room for the circuits needed. We look at it and give you a clear quote, and the quote is free.
Cooling and Ventilation Explained
Circuits for Air Conditioning
An air conditioner is one of the largest continuous loads in a house. It needs a circuit sized for it, protected correctly, and terminated at both ends properly. That is a separate job from mounting the unit, and it is the part that has to be right before anything is switched on.
The check that matters is the switchboard. If the board is full or has no residual current protection, the circuit cannot simply be added, and that is worth knowing weeks before the installer is booked, not on the morning.

A ceiling fan is the cheapest thing you can add to make a room bearable, and it works alongside air conditioning instead of competing with it. Moving air lets you sit comfortably at a higher thermostat setting, which shows up on the bill.
The install detail that matters is the mount. A fan moves and vibrates, so it needs a fixing rated for that rather than the rose a light was hanging from. Where the ceiling allows it, that is straightforward.

An exhaust fan has one job: get the moisture out of the room. A fan that is undersized, or that vents into the roof space instead of outside, gives you the noise without the result.
The signs are easy to spot. A mirror that stays fogged long after a shower, paint lifting near the ceiling, or a musty smell in the room. Fixing it is usually a matter of the right fan and the right duct run.
