  • Aaron L Customer

We were so lucky that some friends recommended Liam. He's friendly, thoughtful, interested in solving problems, in a way that makes him a delight to deal with. We couldn't be happier with the results of his work and unlike other sparkies we've worked with, he turns up on time and even came back on his day off to make sure everything was working as it should. His prices are fair, and his work is of a very high standard. Couldn't be happier. We will definitely be hiring Liam for all future work in our house.

Asked Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

  • We are based in Berwick and work across the City of Casey, Cardinia Shire and into Baw Baw Shire. That covers Narre Warren, Cranbourne, Clyde, Endeavour Hills, Hampton Park, Hallam, Officer, Pakenham, Beaconsfield, Emerald, Gembrook, Bunyip, Drouin and Warragul. If your suburb is not on that list, call and ask before you book someone else.

  • Yes. Ontrack Electrical Services is fully licensed and insured for electrical work in Victoria.

  • Yes. Most of our work is in homes, but we also take on commercial jobs such as shop and cafe fitouts, three phase power, switchboards and lighting. Tell us what the site is and what you need done and we can let you know how we can help.

  • You'll get a clear quote before any work begins, and nothing starts until you approve it. What a job costs depends on what it involves, how the existing wiring has been run and what needs to be replaced, so we look at it first instead of guessing over the phone. Quotes are free.

  • Yes. A single powerpoint, a light that keeps tripping the circuit or a smoke alarm replacement is normal work for us, and so is a full switchboard upgrade or wiring a pool area. It helps to group smaller jobs into one visit where you can.

  • Call 0481 272 355, email ontrackelectrical@gmail.com or send the form on this page. Tell us what is happening, what suburb you are in and whether it is urgent, and we will come back to you.

A Closer Look at Our Electrical Work

Everyday Home Electrical Work

Most call-outs start with something small that has stopped behaving. A safety switch keeps tripping, half the powerpoints in a room have gone dead, a light flickers when the kettle goes on, or the smoke alarm chirps no matter how many batteries you put in it.

This is the bulk of what we do. Adding and replacing powerpoints, tracing faults back to whatever is actually causing them, replacing smoke alarms that have passed their service life, connecting appliances that need hardwiring, and upgrading switchboards that were built for a much smaller electrical load than the house now carries.

Lighting That Changes How a Room Feels

Lighting does more to a room than almost anything else an electrician touches. Swapping tired halogen downlights for LED gives you brighter, whiter light, far less heat in the ceiling space and a noticeable drop in running cost.

Beyond replacements, feature lighting is where a room really changes. Concealed strip lighting behind a panelled wall, above cabinetry or under a bulkhead lifts a space at night in a way a ceiling light cannot. We plan the runs, the driver locations and the switching so it looks built in, not added on.

Fans, Exhaust and Air Conditioning Circuits

Ceiling fans are the cheapest way to make a room usable through a hot Melbourne summer, and they work alongside air conditioning rather than against it. Exhaust fans matter for a different reason: without one that actually shifts air, bathroom moisture ends up in the ceiling and the paint.

Air conditioning also needs its own dedicated circuit instead of sharing with the rest of the house. We run and terminate those circuits and check the switchboard has the capacity before anything is installed.

Pool and Spa Equipment Power

Pool areas have their own electrical requirements because of how close everything sits to water. Pumps, filters, chlorinators and heaters draw steadily and live outdoors, so they need suitable circuits, isolation switches within reach and enclosures rated for the conditions.

We install and repair power to pool equipment, wire pool and surrounding lighting, and sort out the faults that appear once older poolside wiring starts letting water in.

Outdoor Power and Lighting

Outdoor work is exposed to weather, so the rated fittings and properly sealed enclosures matter far more than they do inside. Weatherproof powerpoints for the alfresco, security and sensor lighting, garden and driveway lighting, and a dedicated supply out to a shed or garage all fall under this.

Lighting a driveway or garden also changes how a property looks and feels after dark, and it is one of the more satisfying jobs to finish.

Home EV Charging

Charging an electric car from a standard powerpoint is slow and was never designed for it. A dedicated charger on its own circuit fills the battery overnight and takes the load off the rest of the house.

The first thing we check is whether your switchboard has the capacity and a spare position for the circuit, because on older homes it often does not. That check happens before we quote, so the price you get accounts for whatever the install actually needs.
