Straightforward Advice on What the Job Needs
Commercial jobs vary far more than work in a home, so we look at the site instead of pricing from a description. What's already on the switchboard, how the space is used and what you're planning to add all change the answer.
You'll get a clear quote and an honest picture of what's involved, including anything that depends on an inspection or on coordinating with your other trades. If something is better done in stages, we'll tell you at the quote.
- Fully licensed and insured electrical contractor in Victoria
- Owner-operated, so the electrician who quotes the job is the one who does it
- The work explained clearly before it begins
- Free quotes for installations, upgrades and repairs

Commercial Electrical Questions
Shops, cafes, offices, workshops and similar small to medium commercial premises. We're not set up for large multi-storey projects, and if a job would be better handled by a bigger outfit we'll tell you honestly, not take it on.
Both. We can take a fitout from rough-in through to final fit-off and testing, or come in for a defined portion of it, such as the kitchen equipment circuits or the lighting. If you're working with a shopfitter or builder we can coordinate with them directly.
It depends on what you're running. Commercial kitchen equipment, larger compressors, machinery and some air conditioning need it, while a lot of retail and office fitouts don't. Send us the equipment details and we can check what your site already has before you commit to anything, because upgrading to three phase is a significant cost if it isn't needed.
It depends on the job. Some work can be done without interrupting the areas you're using, and some needs the power off for a period. We'll go through which applies at the quote so you can plan around it rather than find out on the day.
Yes, we install, replace and repair emergency and exit light fittings. If you're unsure what your premises needs or what your obligations are under your lease, ask and we can talk through what's typically expected.
By looking at the site, not by description. The things that usually move the price are access, the state of the existing switchboard and how much of the space is being changed. We'll provide a clear quote, and the quote itself is free.
Commercial Electrical Work Explained
Shop and Hospitality Fitouts
A fitout has more electrical work in it than most people expect, and the equipment schedule drives all of it. Coffee machines, cool rooms, extraction, display lighting and point of sale each need to land on a suitable circuit with the right protection, positioned to suit how staff actually move through the space.
Most of that is decided at rough-in, well before anything is plugged in. Sitting down with the equipment list and the floor plan early is what keeps the electrical side from becoming the thing that holds up your opening date.

Machinery is particular about its supply. A circuit that's undersized for the load, or run a long distance on cable chosen only for the current, can leave a motor with noticeably less voltage than it was designed for.
So the sizing gets worked out properly: the full load current, the length of the run, how the equipment behaves on start-up and what else shares the board. We install three phase outlets, hard-wire machines and connect motors, and we can check whether your existing supply will carry a new machine before you commit to buying it.

The switchboard often decides what else is possible on a site. Older boards in small commercial premises can be full, unclearly labelled, and protected in a way that suits what the building used to do more than what it does now.
Upgrading it makes room for the circuits you're adding, brings the protection into line with the load, and gets the labelling clear enough that the right circuit can be isolated quickly. We handle board upgrades, distribution boards and sub-mains, and where a site can't lose power all at once we can look at staging the work.

Lighting is one of the few upgrades on a commercial site that pays for itself. Older high bay and fluorescent fittings draw heavily and need relamping on a cycle, which on a high ceiling means access equipment every time. LED cuts the running cost and takes most of that maintenance away.
In a shop or a cafe there's a second benefit that doesn't show on the bill. Colour temperature and rendering change how the space reads to a customer and how products look under it, so it's worth choosing deliberately. We also install and replace emergency and exit light fittings.
