LED Downlights in Berwick
Brighter, whiter light for a fraction of the power, and a lot less heat in the ceiling. Done across the house in one visit.

Are Your Downlights Starting to Go?
Halogen downlights were installed by the thousand through the two thousands, and they are all reaching the end of their life at roughly the same time. That is why the first one to fail is usually followed by several more within the year.
Replacing them individually is the expensive way to do it. Each failure means another trip up the ladder, another globe, and the growing suspicion that you are chasing something that is not going to stop.
There is also the heat. Halogen fittings put a genuine amount of heat into the ceiling space, which is why they need clearance around them and why older installations sometimes show scorching on the fitting itself.
- Downlights failing one after another over a few months
- Light that has become noticeably yellow or dim
- Scorching or heat discolouration around a fitting
- Globes that only last a few months before going again
- A power bill that has never been looked at from the lighting side

Change the Lot Over in One Go
A whole house LED changeover is one of those jobs where the result is obvious the same evening. The light is brighter and whiter, the running cost drops to a fraction of what it was, and the fittings should outlast anything you replaced.
Doing them together is what makes it worthwhile. One visit, one set of fittings that all match in colour temperature, and no more replacing a globe every couple of months.
In many positions the new fitting goes straight into the existing hole with no patching at all. Where the diameter differs we can usually work with a plate or adjust the opening, and you hear which positions apply before we start.
The old fittings and any redundant transformers come out as part of the job instead of being left sitting in the ceiling space.

We were so lucky that some friends recommended Liam. He's friendly, thoughtful, interested in solving problems, in a way that makes him a delight to deal with. We couldn't be happier with the results of his work and unlike other sparkies we've worked with, he turns up on time and even came back on his day off to make sure everything was working as it should. His prices are fair, and his work is of a very high standard. Couldn't be happier. We will definitely be hiring Liam for all future work in our house.

LED Downlight Questions
Usually yes. Most of the cost of the job is the visit, so doing forty fittings in one go is far cheaper per fitting than replacing them as they fail. It also means every room ends up with the same colour of light rather than a mix.
Often, and where they do the job is quick with no making good. Where the diameter is different we can usually work with a plate or adjust the opening. We check the existing fittings and tell you which positions apply before starting.
It depends on the room and on what you are used to. Warmer light suits living areas and bedrooms, cooler light suits kitchens, bathrooms and work areas. It is worth deciding before installation because mixing temperatures across one space is noticeable.
Many can, but the fitting and the dimmer have to be compatible or you get flicker and buzzing. If you want dimming, say so at the quote and we will specify fittings and controls that work together instead of retrofitting a dimmer afterwards.
Yes, substantially. The other benefit is heat: halogen fittings put real warmth into the ceiling space and LEDs do not, which is worth having in a roof space through summer.
It depends on the number of fittings, the ceiling access and whether the existing positions can be reused. We count the fittings, look at the ceiling and quote the lot. Quotes are free.
